This Sofitel benefits from an exceptional location overlooking Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s best and busiest shopping street. It is, however, tucked away behind the boulevard, meaning you can feel a sense of peace and quiet while being very much in the middle of it all. After you’ve spent your day shopping and exploring Berlin using the convenient U-Bahn links, you can walk 15 minutes to gay Schoneberg hotspots like Connection Club, WOOF, HarDie’s Kneipe, and more.

The hotel itself blends Sofitel’s classic sense of French sophistication with Berlin’s forward-thinking approach to design. The building is a striking structure, but once you step inside you are welcomed with warm woods, chic Bauhaus furniture, original pieces by German artists, and an overall sense of both comfort and refinement – all curated by architect Jan Kleihues.

The rooms follow a similar pattern, with original art and bespoke furniture complementing Sofitel’s usual dedication to pleasure and relaxation. Enjoy gorgeous marble bathrooms, huge windows with stunning city views, high-end toiletries, and the supremely comfortable Sofitel MyBed™.

The hotel features a restaurant, lounge bar, breakfast room, and library, all of which are impeccably designed and extremely pleasant. There is a good fitness suite with a range of machines and an extensive wellness area, which includes a sauna, steam room, jet-powered foot baths, an ice fountain, and massage treatments.

Sofitel prides itself on its exceptional Concierge service, which is part of the prestigious Clefs d’Or association. The hotel concierges here will go out of their way to make your stay in Berlin unforgettable, and the rest of the staff are equally friendly and obliging.

Das Stue Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel tucked in between Tiergarten and the zoo. This idyllic location is perfect for enjoying Berlin’s largest and busiest park as well as the Schöneberg gay area just south of it. The hotel also offers exclusive access to the Zoo through a private entrance, and you can even look into the ostrich and antelope enclosures while you sip your cocktail at the bar.

Hidden behind a grand stone facade, the hotel’s elegant and cutting-edge interior design is a reflection of Berlin’s avant-garde sense of style. The lobby and Stue Bar both blend classic elements such as marble and dark polished wood with modern, angular furniture, original artwork, and a sophisticated sense of fun. Nods to the zoo animals can be found everywhere, from the small rhino statues that inhabit the hotel to the crocodile head at the entrance.

The rooms are all decorated in a beautiful contemporary style which is half-industrial, half-snug, for an effect that is both imposing and intimate. Many of them offer beautiful views over Tiergarten and the zoo through floor-to-ceiling windows, and many also have a private balcony.

Das Stue has a Michelin-star restaurant, Cinco by Paco Pérez, which specializes in contemporary molecular Mediterranean cuisine. There is also a more casual dining option, also presented by Paco Pérez, offering modern tapas – on a warm day, you can enjoy these on Das Stue’s gorgeous zoo-facing terrace. The hotel bar, meanwhile, is themed around classic lounge-style dens, and features a wide selection of whiskeys as well as an inventive cocktail menu.

Das Stue is located about 20 minutes from the Schwules Museum as well as low-key gay bars like HarDie’s Kneipe, Blue Boys, and K6.

Hotel Zoo Berlin is a longstanding luxury Berlin institution, with a long and glamorous history of hosting film stars and VIPs throughout the 20th century. A recent renovation has given the hotel a sleek, sexy new look, however touches of its decadent and luxurious past remain. Throughout Hotel Zoo, you will find this beautifully executed blend of modern and classic, forming a unique and captivating effect.

Each room and suite is individually designed and decorated, which is especially impressive as there are over 130 of them. The rooms tend to feature a pared-down aesthetic with a few extravagant touches, such as large mirrors, beautiful rugs, or dramatic light fixtures. In every one of them, you will find gorgeous furniture you can sink right into as well as huge wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows.

All of the dining spaces are uniquely pleasant, from the old-fashioned elegance of Grace Restaurant and Bar to the swanky modernity of the rooftop bar and the delightful calm of the terraced winter garden. Guests have complimentary 24-hour access to the gym and can take advantage of Hotel Zoo’s excellent concierge services for all their needs in the city.

The hotel is located on Kurfürstendamm (also known as Ku’damm), Berlin’s premier shopping boulevard, and is close to Tiergarten and the Zoo. Most of the gay bars, clubs, and shops in Schoneberg are within a 20-minute walk (which usually mostly consists of walking along Kurfürstendamm).

This Pullman hotel offers the brand’s usual mix of contemporary design, friendly service, and dedication to their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. The lobby features a bright and colorful decor that is both striking and playful, while the rooms are decorated in soothing, neutral whites and beiges to create a haven of relaxation.

All of the rooms are spacious and feature large windows that let in plenty of bright, natural light. Everything is carefully designed for comfort and practicality: for example, the desks feature connection hubs for both a laptop and mobile phone, and the blackout curtains allow you to enjoy your sleep for as long as you need in the morning before bathing your room in natural light.

Ku’Damm 101 brands itself as a “lifestyle” hotel, aiming to embody the kind of place that young trendy travelers want to be. This boutique hotel achieves this by paying close attention to what their guests actually want from a modern urban hotel experience, and delivering it seamlessly. It succeeds in being both casual and aspirational, with a luxury approach to design and service at affordable prices.

The hotel specializes in ultra-minimalist decor, inspired by the Bauhaus concepts of Le Corbusier and executed in sustainable materials. The rooms are all spacious and attentively designed, blending comfort, practicality, and style. Most of them feature designer furniture, which you are encouraged to move around as you like in order to make yourself at home.

There is not a fitness suite, but there is a spa which includes a delightful lemongrass-scented sauna. The lobby bar is a great place to hang out and meet people, and the buffet breakfast is exceptionally fresh and varied.

As the name implies, Ku’Damm 101 is located on the iconic Kurfürstendamm shopping avenue, which great news for its guests (and bad news for their wallets). It is a bit far from any gay nightlife, but you can take a bus directly from the front of the hotel to the main gay area within about 20 minutes. S Halensee S-Bahn station is also nearby, which is handy for covering long distances across the city.

Tom’s Hotel is a famous gay Berlin hotel, owned by the people behind the iconic Tom’s Bar cruise club (which is two doors down). It is undoubtedly one of the gayest option in Berlin – bang in the middle of Schoneberg, surrounded by gay bars and clubs, and with a clientele and staff team comprised entirely of gay men. That said, it is also a pretty convenient hotel for general Berlin sightseeing, with Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn station just a few minutes away.

Tom’s Hotel provides modern, well-appointed rooms in single and double sizes. Design and luxury are not the focus here, but all rooms come with WiFi, flatscreen TV, DVD player, complimentary water, and fresh fruit. A stay at Tom’s Hotel also comes with a Hotel Pass, which gives you exclusive discounts and deals at many Schöneberg gay shops, bars, and clubs.

There is no in-house breakfast, but the Pass does include a 15% discount at Romeo & Romeo, a coffee shop across the street owned by the same team. Romeo & Romeo is known for its excellent coffee and delicious breakfasts, so don’t miss out. Similarly, there is not a gym but you do get free access to a nearby one.

Breakfast is simple but high-quality, and served until mid-afternoon – which is great news for anyone who may have overindulged in Schöneberg’s attractions the previous night. ArtHotel Connection is “everyone-friendly” and a very popular choice with gay travelers.

This Mercure hotel benefits from a great location for gay Berlin. Several gay bars are just a couple of minutes away, including TABASCO Bar, Pinocchio, Tramp’s, Blond, and ToyBoy bar, and everything else is under a 10-minute walk. Nollefendortz Platz U-Bahn station (Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4) is also very close by, and connects easily with most major Berlin attractions.

This 3-star hotel has everything you could possibly want for a convenient central Berlin stay. You can choose between Standard, Superior, and Privilege rooms, all of which are comfortable and relatively spacious. The Superior and Privilege categories come with small extra perks like mineral water, a Senseo coffee machine, and air-conditioning – the latter of which we definitely recommend in the summer, as Berlin can get very hot.

There is a hotel bar that opens until 1 AM and a generous breakfast buffet that represents great value for money. Overall, Mercure Hotel Berlin Zentrum is nothing fancy, but it does have the reliable standard of a chain like Mercure in a unbeatable location for gay Berlin nightlife.

Lindemann’s hotel is located in Schöneberg, a 15-minute walk away from the main cluster of gay bars. Because it is slightly removed from the nightlife, it is beautifully peaceful and quiet, and there is even a gorgeous park nearby for you to enjoy. There is an S-Bahn station (Yorckstrasse) nearby, which is perfect for connecting to Berlin sights on the other side of the city.

Lindemann’s offers exceptional value for money, with stylish and modern rooms starting at €49. These rooms all come with the essentials and are maintained to an impeccable standard. They range from the compact and practical Mini to the gorgeous Urban Rooftop With Tub, which comes with its own private terrace and in-room freestanding bathtub. The Friends & Family room is also a great choice, with space for four people to share.

The buffet breakfast at Lindemann’s continues the trend of affordable high quality, with an excellent selection of fresh foods, presented beautifully. There is also a nice lobby bar for when you need a drink.

The hotel has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and is one of their top 40 Berlin hostels. As a 3-star, Lindemann doesn’t offer any fancy extras, but what it does do is provide you with a great room at a reasonable rate in a gay-friendly location.

This is a relatively new hotel in the Schöneberg area. The location is about a 10-minute walk from the gay bars and about 20 minutes from Tiergarten. There is a U-Bahn station (Bülowstraße, Lines 2 and 3) a couples of minutes away, and two others just a little bit further for Lines 1 and 4.

Novum Hotel Aldea Berlin Centrum is a no-frills budget hotel. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and quite roomy for a budget city hotel. There are basic amenities like toiletries, TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The family room, which sleeps five people in five individual single beds, is a very good option for friends traveling on a budget.

There is a pretty good buffet breakfast in the morning and a vending machine for snacks and drinks.

Ibis Berlin Kurfürstendamm is very well located near Tiergarten, the zoo, and the Schöneberg gay area. There are gay bars like Blue Boy Bar, K6, New Action, and Bull just over five minutes away, and all of the rest of the gay venues in the neighborhood are at most a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Because of this, this is a consistently popular choice for gay travelers to Berlin.

The standard rooms are on the smaller side, but are very bright, modern, and comfortable, featuring Ibis’ own Sweet Bed design. There are larger rooms with balconies, which are particularly comfortable and feature a lovely view over Wittenberg Platz, the KaDeWe department store, and the Berlin skyline. There are also several themed rooms from Ibis’ “MyRoom” range, which allows employees to design rooms based on their interests – here, these range from nature to gaming to David Bowie.

There is a bar downstairs serving snacks and drinks round-the-clock. The buffet breakfast is very good, serving nice coffee and a varied range of hot and cold foods.

This Ibis is based in a large building, immediately next to Ibis Budget (see below). As usual for the Ibis brand, this hotel is a step above the Budget brand, meaning that the breakfast is better and more varied, there is a bar, and the rooms are larger.

This Ibis Budget sits next to the Ibis Hotel and offers a more bare-bones hotel experience. The rooms feature Ibis Budget’s award-winning “Cocoon” design, which packs in all the requirements of a good night’s sleep into a tight space without sacrificing comfort. Despite their small size, the rooms are all bright, airy, and relaxing.

There is even a larger balcony room available, which overlooks Kurfürstendamm and the KaDeWe department store. There is also a series of “MyRoom” themed rooms designed by the employees, featuring everything from art materials to relaxing murals to an actual climbing wall.

As usual with Ibis budget, the facilities are more basic than you would find in its sister brands. The breakfast here is very basic (no hot options), and there is no bar. Overall, this is perfect for two people looking for a comfortable, no-frills base from which to explore gay Berlin.

As the name implies, this is a men-only (up to 38 years old) gay youth hostel in Berlin. It has an excellent location in the very heart of the Schöneberg gay nightlife. Bars like Tramp’s, TOBACCO, Blonde, Scheune, The Jaxx, Hafen, and Tom’s Bar are all under a 5-minute walk away, making this a perfect place to start a night of gay bar-hopping.

The hostel itself is no-frills, with simple rooms featuring 2, 4, 6, or 8 bunk beds. Depending on how many people you are traveling with, you could even book a whole room for your group. The beds are comfortable and both the bathrooms and rooms are kept very clean.

This is also a great hostel for solo travelers, since it is very easy to meet people and make friends, even if there isn’t a bar. The hostel does have is a kitchenette where you can hang out and prepare your own meals. There is always a fun, friendly atmosphere, and the guests often end up enjoying the surrounding nightlife together.

My Gayhostel is a male-only hostel and budget hotel in Schöneberg. It is located on Nollendorfplatz, which gives it great citywide access through the Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn station (Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4). The main group of gay bars is a short walk away, with many under 5 minutes away including Tramp’s, Heile Welt, and Hafen.

The hostel has 4-person dorm rooms (with individual lockers) and a selection of private rooms with shared bathrooms. These include both doubles and singles, all of which are simple but comfortable (the mattresses in particular are very good).

The staff are extremely friendly and polite. There is a kitchenette where you can make your own meals, but no common area or bar. This hostel tends to have less of a party vibe than other gay hostels in the area, which works well for those who like to actually get some sleep. That said, the Hostelpass, which comes with discounts at various gay bars, clubs, cafes, and shops in the area, does make this a good choice if you are going to be enjoying gay Schöneberg.
