Why We Love It
♥ All round great budget hotel – good marks for location, style, room size and importantly value for money
♥ Locationed in the City of London – historic centre, the financial capital and quick access to multiple underground lines
♥ Design focus, where things look good but also work perfectly
Motel One Tower Hill is located in the City of London. This is the historic centre and business heart. The area blends old and new with shiny skyscrapers and impressive mediaeval architecture. Walk among the navy suites of bankers and lawyers that fill this neighbourhood. This part of London is often referred to as simply the City (with capital C) and sometimes as the Square Mile.
The City is a great location for sightseeing and travelers interested in history as the settlement dates as far back as Roman times. Just 500 meters from the hotel are the Tower of London and the iconic Tower Bridge. From the hotel, you can easily connect to the rest of London with three underground stations serving four lines all within 500 meters.
Just northeast from the hotel, lies one of London’s trendiest neighborhoods, Shoreditch. It’s the capital creative hub and home some of the most popular markets in London. Within 15 minutes walk you can reach: Old Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane Market, Columbia Road Flower Market and Petticoat Lane Market.
The main on-site facilities include the 24-hour lobby bar and lounge, where breakfast is served. Free WI-FI runs throughout the hotel. There are no gym facilities. Being a budget hotel in central London space is of the premium.
Style & Rooms
The hotel has 291 rooms over 15 floors. All the rooms are 16 sqm but unlike other Motel Ones, there are different price points depending on the view. The premium rooms, sit on the highest floors with a west view. From these rooms, you can see out over London’s impressive skyline including the Shard, the Cheesegrater, the Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie.
For London and especially the City, 16 sqm is a good sized room, exceptional at this price point. Rooms are well equipped with blackout curtains, plenty of electric sockets, plus tea and coffee making facilities.
